Call for Proposals Open
Leadership Sessions: These sessions if accepted will have two free regular conference registrations. The leadership sessions should concentrate on development of leaders at the school and district level. These sessions should address at least one of the following aspects: vision for academic success for all students, vision for creating, developing and growing teachers and administrators, creating a healthy and safe learning environment, ways to collaborate horizontally and vertically, and create ways to empower students, teachers and other administrators.
Concurrent Sessions: These sessions if accepted will have two free regular conference registrations. Concurrent sessions should be an opportunity for presenters to share ideas, techniques and lessons that will enhance student learning. The session should demonstrate innovative educational methods of technology infused instruction. Sessions could also talk about designing, delivering and assessing effective instructional design for all types of teaching.
Workshop Sessions: These sessions if accepted will have two free regular conference registrations. Workshop sessions are an opportunity for attendees to not just learn, but to get a hands-on experience using the techniques and lessons presented. Sessions should demonstrate innovative educational methods of technology infused instruction. To allow for impactful experiences, these sessions are 1 hour and 30 minutes with rooms conducive to collaboration.
Student Showcase: These presentations, if accepted, will receive two free regular conference registrations. Student showcase presentations should demonstrate innovative, yet practical use of technology in the classroom, connections with state and national technology and instructional standards, and show a connection to the conference theme. Proposals should clearly communicate how the content will be shared - all session presentations should be interactive and allow up to, but no more than, 10 student presenters (per presentation) to share their learning with conference attendees. More information can be found on the FAQ page of the Student Showcase website.
Poster Sessions: These presentations take place within the vendor hall. Visitors will walk throughout the area to browse multiple presentations during the timeframe, and will walk to those with a specific interest to their needs. Prepare for a floating or an edCAMP type experience for attendees as they could spend several minutes or much longer. Popular posters have tri-boards, handouts, QR codes, or links of their documents and presentations available for attendees to view and take with them for viewing following the session.
Playgrounds Sessions: Modeled after the playgrounds hosted at ISTE, the NCTIES playgrounds will provide the opportunity for presenters to provide a personalized, immersive experience that involve programs, apps, tools, or other topics. Playgrounds provide an opportunity for a short introduction with a hands-on approach. Typically participants will be present for a short period of time and receive direct interaction from the presenter. Past playgrounds have involved teaching participants about green screens and their uses in the classroom, how to create your own podcast, and the use of Ozobots in the elementary classroom.
